Official opening and award ceremony

Author: // 22-Oct-2011 15:46

The first day of the 11th Graduation Show has almost come to an end, but what a great day it has been. Not only the official opening, this morning, was packed. Throughout the day the visitors kept coming to indulge themselves to the high standard quality of our graduate’s designs.

For a few of the graduates it was an extra festive day, because they were awarded with either a price, a grant of in some cases both. Alumnus Paul Linse handed out the René Smeets Award to Dennis Melick for his project Three to One: Traffic Display. This award is given to the graduate with the most professional project. And as Linse put it: “Melick had a good answer to every question.” Maaike Fransen received the Melkweg Award for her project The Future will be Functional.
But there were also Keep an Eye Grants to be given away, and both Melick and Fransen got these as well together with Rianne Koens and Philip Luschen. Enabling them to make a next step with their projects. And last but not least: Massoud Hassami has been chosen to present his project Mine Kafon Deminor at the design conference Design Indaba in Cap Town, South Africa.
