UNDERWATER ILLUSIONS

WHAT
These magnifying and distorting glass panels create the optical illusion of an underwater world. Prints start flowing when you walk by, ink turns into coral, glass becomes the ocean.

HOW
Kim Melody Zoutewelle screen printed colourful graphic patterns on both sides of glass plates. The glass poles, which are melted onto the surface, act like ripples on water: they add motion, create depth and play with perception.

WOW
At every angle, a unique and different image is born. A new way to brighten public spaces using glass as a poetic, narrative material.

QUOTE
I am fascinated by the refraction of light through water. Made in cooperation with Glasatelier Lichtinzicht
