TRANSNATIONAL SPACES

WHAT
A collective imaginary of what Europe is, translated into an online platform and series of video narratives that explore European identity.

WHY
European citizens can live, work and study anywhere within the European Union. But who are the ninety million young people living in foreign countries across Europe today? How does the transience of these people shape their identity? In the context of rising nationalism and anti-EU rhetoric, how dto they build a community?

HOW
Mar Ginot Blanco distributed forty 40 disposable cameras to young citizens currently living in a foreign country, and asked them to visually answer the question: ‘How does Europe influence your everyday life?’ A reading of the images reveals a European policy residing in each of them.

QUOTE
European identity is borderless and shaped by the mobility of its citizens.
