WHAT
Building blocks made from unrecyclable fibres from the paper recycling industry. The blocks function as elements for assembling several pieces, such as shelves, stools and benches.

WHY
Cellulose paper fibres can only be recycled five to seven times. A single recycling plant utilises up to 4000 tons of these unrecyclable fibres every year. In ‘Recycling Reject’, Tim Teven wanted to find a purpose for seemingly unrecyclable fibres generated by the paper recycling industry.

HOW
By shredding and drying the leftover fibres, adding binder and pigment, and then moulding them under pressure. The resulting material is hard and strong, like stone or brick, with a smooth surface.
