WHAT
‘TENSION’, a collection comprising a mirror, a desk lamp and a pencil case.

WHY
We use elastic bands for all sorts of things, but Matthieu Muller was amazed to discover just how useful they are for connecting and holding parts together. As the name implies, his ‘Tension’ collection uses the tension in silicone elastic to connect the parts of the stainless steel mirror, the Plexiglas and brass desk lamp and the anodized aluminium pencil case.

HOW
The band acts as the centrepiece of each product, defining its look and strengthening the identity of the whole collection. Remove the elastic and the parts can be stored or shipped as a flatpack.
