TRASHURES

WHAT
A collection of jewellery designed to serve a shared wardrobe, allowing different wearers to adapt the size or style to their own wishes.

WHY
‘Take, make and dispose’ is out of fashion; we will increasingly share, borrow and reuse products — and that counts for clothing too. But shared fashion requires a new mindset. Instead of designing and buying new outfits, we need to find ways to personalise existing designs.

HOW
With ‘Trashures’ a shoulder width can be altered or a skirt can be shortened without cutting or sewing. By combining materials like precious coral and silver with inferior plastic and glass, the charms emphasise the overall vision of the collection: ‘One man’s trash, another man’s treasure’.

QUOTE
Restyling can seriously extend the life of designs.
