WHAT
A ceramic research project that explores textures, open structures and patterns made possible by a custom-made dripping machine.

WHY
Interested in combining digital technologies and craft with a human touch, Carla Joachim and Jordan Morineau created a new machine that drips liquid porcelain, allowing them to create a new ceramic language.

HOW
The machine drips liquid clay through a nozzle with a diameter that can be changed. The drops fall onto a rotating plaster mould that also moves on an X axis. Carla and Jordan wrote a code that determines the speed and movement of the platform, and hence the ceramic outcome. They can exploit the possibilities to produce a unique result every time.
