Interested in material-led design, Johannes Böving experimented with one material — steel — to understand its limits, breaking points and durability. The knowledge gained then guided the shaping and functioning of the resulting objects.

HOW
By exploring the technique of plastic deformation, where the material is put under enormous pressure until it buckles under the strain, Johannes managed to control how steel is shaped within an industrial compression machine.
