SOUND ADDS LIFE TO MAPS
Google Maps has brought an incredible amount of images of
the world within reach. ‘That is great, but I miss the interaction.
Auditive impressions will be a major factor in determining our
experience.’ In Luisterlandschap (Sound landscapes) Naomi
Yasuda has made Google Maps come to life by adding sound.
Her first voyage of discovery is the Pieterpad, a walk that runs
from the Pieterburen village in Northern Groningen to the
Sint-Pietersberg hill in the South of Limburg.
Through www.luisterlandschap.nl anyone can travel along with
her. Scroll over the walkway, add sounds and comments where
needed, and experience a new way of travelling.
