Something is missing in humans; half of them to be exact. Once upon a time man and woman were joined together, but ever since the gods have split this creature in half, people have longed to find their original other half again. The Greek poet Aristofanes believed that people had originally been joined together; something which has inspired Meike Sier to create the series Body Bags based on various body types and attitudes. Rolls of fat, wrinkly skin, a rib cage: these characteristic elements have been transformed by pleating, folding and stitching skin-coloured materials.
