Too beautiful to scrap
Since 1846, Dutch textile brand Vlisco has created colourful wax prints popular in Central and West Africa. The complex, traditional production technique and Vlisco’s high standards mean that a lot of fabric ends up on the scrap heap. After extensive research, Simone Post gave new life to these exceptional leftovers by designing a range of interior products. With folding and laser cutting, she creates patterned cloth panels to divide and accentuate spaces. Other misprints are wound into circular rugs or shaped into seat covers. With endless possible colour combinations a unique product arises every time, allowing waste to gain real value.
