ATSW: Awaiting To See What

Behind every art exhibition is a dedicated group of experts who help to put everything in place. They are called art handlers. These anonymous figures remain shrouded in mystery: we never see them or what they do, for their work is finished by the time the show opens. Their movements are like strictly choreographed rituals as they unpack, lift, position and secure each artwork. With the show ‘ATSW: Awaiting To See What’ Camille Guibaud uses custom symbols to document them with the meticulous precision of an anthropologist. The project is an ode to a hidden art; shining light on that which otherwise remains in the shadows.
