From Pollination to Sound

Fascinated by how flowers seduce pollinators to harvest their pollen, Sarah Loman researched their tricks and pondered on a way to make these work for humans too. She created three seductive objects based on sound, which never fails to attract our attention. The action-reaction doorbell is derived from a snapdragon, which only opens its doors when an insect of exact the right weight lands on it. The vibrating bass speaker has the outline of a mountain laurel flower, which actually moves its stamen to touch its guest. And the bird whistle works on friction, seducing birds to a love song, just like an arum lures beetles inside for a steamy night.
