Today’s technological landscape is changing so quickly, it can be hard for regular mortals to keep up. We know the words, but only have the vaguest sense of what they mean. Magnús Ingvar Ágústsson highlights this with ‘The Oracle’s Query’, where he draws a parallel with ancient myths. ‘The Cloud’ becomes a metaphysical place, data mines dot the countryside and meme cats and robots roam free. This fantastical modern world is depicted in a tapestry – a fitting medium, for the history of computers and looms is interwoven. Where once punch cards were used to program automated looms, now digital pixels govern the weft and weave of the cloth.
