The augmented-reality installation ‘perfectBlue’ confronts us with the all-seeing eye of our smart technology through an immersive choreography. Technology is a pervasive presence in our lives today, and algorithms are increasingly becoming better at analysing visual data. perfectBlue investigates how intimate we are with our smartphones and laptops. We direct the device’s gaze to some extent, but it is also there when we are unaware of it, and growing smarter fast... Put on your VR headset and enter. Each time your headset hits upon a marker it synchronises the dancing digital layers with the real environment. The machine creates the narrative.
