Online communication is far-reaching, but makes us forget what is nearby. That is why Gyalpo Batstra introduces the ‘Offline Website’, designed to meet the people from your own neighbourhood. This website on wheels stops at front doors, talks to local residents, and asks about their hobbies, skills and interests, like a physical Facebook. Rolling from block to block, an analog index is created, showing the diversity of the world just outside your front door. Although the data stays offline, it can still grow into a self-organising network that brings people together; they can get to know each other at the community centre that functions as the homepage.
