“The identity of a local community develops where its people meet. It is meant to be built collectively”, says Joséphine Combe. She has introduced a range of playful outdoor furniture to Woensel West, a residential area in Eindhoven. The spontaneous gatherings of neighbours in the front gardens on Edisonstraat inspired Joséphine to explore how new relationships could be forged. Her trapeziums, benches and stools all combine to create a big puzzle, and each house gets a piece of it. Users can freely reorganise and shuffle them around, and extend their front garden get-togethers to take over bigger spaces in the neighbourhood.
