WHAT
A light sculpture that captures the poetry of the night lights.

WHY
The 24 / 7 mentality is keeping us active at all hours. Boris Maas is calming us down. This light installation is a poetic interpretation of the lights we use in the city at night and the shadows they cast.

HOW
“An Ellipsis Machine, A City Light” mimics the motion of car and street lights that pass us by as we move through the city at night. From a car light bulb in the centre, a series of overlapping filters and moving armature project ellipses of coloured light. They circle the room, softening our state of mind with their mesmerising effect.
