A vlogumentary that explores the discrepancy between the on- and offline identity of a vlogger.

HOW
Gwendolyn Qwerinto integrated the phenomenon of vlogging into a documentary format to create a new genre: a vlogumentary. The film shows a conversation with her sister and vlogger Roxy. It offers an insight into the presentation of the self, both in front of the camera and backstage, to reveal the mentality of the online generation.

WHY
Vloggers share their lives on YouTube. By consciously selecting and editing the film footage, they unconsciously censor themselves, posting an ideal self-image as a representation of daily life. But is a vlog a fair representation? And are we still able to discern the staged image from reality?
