Ik Zie Ik Zie

What: A viewer that offers a new perspective on familiar surroundings. Placed in a public setting, it triggers passers-by to discover surprising details.

Why: You might cross a street or square every day, but have you actually seen everything that is there? Lian Kroes leaves her device on a lamp post, inviting people to take another look. If they do, they are treated to an unexpected view of the city.

How: With the spy effect of a periscope, ‘Ik Zie Ik Zie’ changes the direction of our daily gaze. A video compilation of this social intervention showcases the attraction of looking at things from a different angle. For those who would like to see more, the framed details are uploaded to an interactive map.
