Silence of Blue

What: A responsive object that translates the silence in its surroundings into a light that embodies the silence, giving it a spatial dimension.

Why: We relate to our environment through three basic mediums: sound, light and space. This object allows these three to interact, so we can experience their changing nature in a more meaningful, fluid way.

How: A blue shadow in the heart of the light source expands when it is quiet, reflecting an increasing atmosphere of intimacy that has room to grow when all is still. As soon as sound breaks the silence, the blue shadow retracts and disappears again.
