DAE alumna Kiki van Eijk will present several exhibitions at different locations during Salone del Mobile 2012 in Milan. Kiki graduated in 2000 Cum Laude at Design Academy in Eindhoven. She exhibits worldwide with its own collection in museums and galleries.

From April 17 till April 22 she presents the exhibition ‘Nodus’. This exhibition is all about savage flowers. Three different carpet designs based on flowers which grow everywhere around you in the wild: between the concrete tiles, next to the road…. Kiki picked those flowers just in front of her studio and dried them for a few months; like she used to do as a child. She wants to show the beauty of savage plants that grow into the wild on places were you would normally destroy them. The carpets are made with the most exquisite hand knotting techniques and natural materials such as: banana, bamboo, silk and linen.

In addition she is asked by Omnidecor, a company based in Erba (Italy), to give a new approach to their glass panels. She developed 8 new tactile glass panels and exhibits with ‘Tactile glass’ during Salone del Mobile. Last but not least, DAE alumna Kiki will present ‘Hermes windows from Beijenkorf Amsterdam to Milano´. After the big success of the windows designed for Hermès at the Bijenkorf Amsterdam, Kiki was asked by Hermès Italy to adapt those 5 exceptional windows into an installation of 8 windows for their Milano store during the Salone del Mobile from April 17 till May 7 2012. Kiki van Eijk says: “It really shows the joy of a child playing with a lot of fantasy, like Alice in wonderland.”
