DAE teachers Stefan Scholten (1972) and Carole Baijings (1973) established Scholten & Baijings, Studio for Design in 2010. They present ‘Colour One’ and ‘Colour Bin & Colour Wood Dining’ during Salone Del Mobile at different locations in Milan. The design duo visualizes the layered structure of the MINI One in startling textures, entrancing colours and skilled craftsmanship. They work at a design installation that explores the world of a car in the area between facts and imagination.

The Colour Wood presentation is a serie of side tables, whichexplore crafts traditions and the characteristics of thinned wood. The symbolic superimposition of a contemporary conception, traditional values and techniques are reflected in overlaying various transparent layers: the textures of the wood, stain colour and printed graphic patterns.
