In recent years the Chinese market for Dutch art has grown enormously. This leads to an increase in Chinese interest for Dutch art and a higher amount of special exhibitions including Dutch art. After being host during the Beijing International Book Fair in 2011, The Netherlands will be in the spotlights during Beijing International Design Week 2012.

Premsela, Dutch Institute for Design and Fashion, and the Overseas China Town (OCT) jointly present the exhibition “Basic Instincts: Dutch Fashion in context” at the OCT Art & Design Gallery (Hua Gallery) in Shenzhen. This is one of many Dutch events that the Dutch Design Fashion and Architecture program organizes during the Beijing Design Week held from September 28th to October 6th.

It's positive to hear the interest and awareness for Dutch art is constantly growing in China. More positive for us is to see Alumni students contributing.
