During Dutch Design Week 2012 (20-28 October), Eindhoven365 and Stichting Ondernemers Eindhoven Centrum (SOEC) ensure that quality design exhibitions and events can be seen in the centre of Eindhoven. Designers such as Maarten Baas, Kiki & Joost and Nacho Carbonell, which are all Alumni of DAE, are part of the program ‘Unexpected Interaction’.

Unexpected designers?
At six squares in Eindhoven a laser beam physically connects design installations. The full range of 'Unexpected Interaction’ includes cultural institutions, shops and restaurants in the city. A prominent marker identifies the participating companies and institutions. These are designed and made by Joost Gehem, Tiddo Bakker (Alumni) and Victor Sonna of Collaboration-O.

Unexpected Interaction opening
The opening is organized by a special collective with a more than special 'March for Design', based on the idea of 'Support your local design'. The parade will start at Wilhelminaplein at 7:00PM on Saturday the 20th of October. It continues its way to the other five squares. On each square the designer will give an insight on his/her project. A link to the map with the route for the opening can be found here: http://bit.ly/M4DROUTE.

Unexpected Interaction!
The theme ‘Unexpected Interaction’ suits the current strategy of the city. Eindhoven365 is engaged in the brand development of Eindhoven. The main pillars are Design, Technology and Knowledge. These aspects should be visible and tangible in the city. During Dutch Design Week this will be promoted through a special 'interaction', reached between the parties in the centre and designers. This leads to spontaneous, surprising and 'unexpected' activities. The cooperation 'Unexpected Interaction' is the mind-set for the coming years and a basis for more qualitative design and technology events.
