Design Academy Eindhoven congratulates three alumni from the Master course Contextual Design, Christian Fiebig, Itay Ohaly and Thomas Vailly, who won the prestigious Frame Moooi Award 2013.

Projects from more than 70 countries were submitted and then anonymously reviewed by juror Jana Scholze, curator of contemporary furniture and product design at London's Victoria and Albert Museum. Nine finalists were selected, and April 10th, the winner was announced at the Salone del Mobile in Milan: Impulsive Furnishing Unit, designed by Christian Fiebig, Itay Ohaly and Thomas Vailly, who won € 25.000 with their innovative design.

The Impulsive Furnishing Unit was first conceived for producing furniture for the C-Fabriek exhibition at the Dutch Design Week 2012, in which the three designers developed a new production unit to create a series of furniture for the space. The result is an entire production system (a whole furniture factory) reduced to the size of a standardized plywood palette which can easily be shipped and produced anywhere.

The winning project is a continuation of the individual design projects with which Christian Fiebig, Itay Ohaly and Thomas Vailly graduated in 2011 from the Master course Contextual Design, at Design Academy Eindhoven.
