Where is....Jan Konings? During the Dutch Design Week, Eindhoven turns into a jungle of designers, journalists and curious people. But the EMMA reporters don't want to speak to them in the first place. They are looking for the one and only Jan Konings, the curator of the Graduation Show. Together with creative director Thomas Widdershoven, he is the brain behind this year's show. But who is he? What does he look like? What is the difference between designing the public space and designing a graduation show? What does he want visitors to talk about when they see the show? Listen to the EMMA show of 19 October to find out.

Marcus Fairs wants to add technology to design

EMMA runs into Marcs Fairs, chief editor of Dezeen Magazine. He thinks the DAE Graduation Show is the best degree show worldwide! But he has some positive criticism on our students' work as well. "I haven't been to the Dutch Design Week and the Graduation Show for 3 years now. But, it seems it looks a bit the same as the last time I was here. People are still doing chairs and tables. I wonder if we need to move on a bit. It's all very low-tech." Listen what Marcus Fairs is looking for when he is searching the floors of Design Academy Eindhoven.

Foreign Self

Today a new radio show is being made. It focuses on the Foreign Self. Jana Scholze, Curator of Contemporary Furniture at Victoria and Albert Museum, is being interviewed by EMMA. The show will be online in the afternoon. Keep an eye on EMMA!
