The Readership Strategic Creativity & Spaces and Traces of Design Academy Eindhoven are rewarded with two new Research projects by the Technology Foundation STW, The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) & Regieorgaan practice based research SIA.
Last year the three organisations launched the Research Through Design Call to stimulate practiced based, design driven research. Out of the more than 40 applications, 9 research projects were selected. Two of these projects will be executed by Design Academy Eindhoven in collaboration with academic, societal and industry partners.
The design research project My Futures will design tools that support people who need care and those who care for them, to thinking about their personal futures. In this two-year programme, Reader Bas Raijmakers and Research Associate Renee Scheepers will closely collaborate with TU Delft, care organisations, design partners, insurance companies and local councils.
The design research project Mycelium-based Materials for Product Design aims to develop new, eco-friendly materials. In this two and a half year programme, DAE alumnus Maurizio Montalti will closely collaborate with the microbiology department of University of Utrecht, and several industry and cultural partners.
Design Academy Eindhoven is delighted to embark on two new prestigious design research projects that will expand and strengthen the recently fully accredited design research programme at the institute.
