On October 6th the Symposium higher Art Education and Research takes place in Amsterdam.
On behalf of Design Academy, Reader David Hamers will present an experiment of Naomi Bueno de Mesquita, part of the TRADERS program, as an example of design research.
Mobile mapping as a storytelling practice
Design research in which digital tracking/mapping, audio recording and location-based archiving are used to collect, discuss and distribute stories of ‘illegal’ immigrants. Undocumented citizens guide workshop participants through their city. The walk is mapped and conversations are recorded. An invisible city becomes visible and unheard stories become available to the public.
