Rixt Hoekstra (DAE Program Manager Research) has won the 2017 Milka Bliznakov Research Prize. The annual prize is granted by the International Archive of Women in Architecture and the College of Architecture and Urban Studies at Virginia Tech University.
Rixt Hoekstra has won the prize for her research on Han Schröder (1918- 1992), the daughter of Truus Schröder who worked with Gerrit Rietveld to co-design her home, the Rietveld- Schröder House in Utrecht. Han Schröder was one of the first female architects in the Netherlands.
