Last week Droog founders Renny Ramakers and Gijs Bakker received a royal honour. The honour is a reward for 25 years of dedication to Dutch Design. Droog, founded in 1993, became internationally recognized as a constant design innovator.
Gijs Bakker was committed to Design Academy Eindhoven for many years, first as Head of the Man & Living department. Together with Renny Ramakers he became Head of the Master Department Industrial Design for a number of years. After that, Gijs Bakker was Head of the total Master program until his retirement in 2012.
